RESULTS, LAKE SIMCOE, JULY 9,2008
It seems that when ever we fish Simcoe, the wind blows and this year it was no exception. Strong winds from the north kept many anglers away from their prime spots, and the same north winds stirred up the largemouth areas in the bay. A huge carp kill in the south and the river left anglers with few choices for a pleasant afternoon. However the weigh in came and as usual some guys figured it out. John Whyte and John Anders came in with a huge bag, the largest since the current format was adopted at 24.90 lbs and John Anders weighed in  the largest single bag since the 4 fish limit was adopted. Only 65 fish weighed in, with 46 smallies and 19 largemouth for a 45% catch rate, and only 7 (4) fish limits and only two teams had an 8 fish bag. John Whyte spoke at the weigh in about a very subtle change that was necessary for him to catch his limit after he watched John Anders land a ton of fish. Dan Anton-Lee weighed in the largest fish of the day and the largest fish weighed in since 2005 at 5.40lb, a smallie. Unfortunately it was the team's only fish.
