LAKE MUSKOKA, AUGUST 11, 2009 |
| I hate thunderstorms and we had a big one, some guys hid in boathouses and some along shorelines, but when the sun peeked out it was quite warm and humid. Although it seemed like a tough bite, it was actually about average for Muskoka with 82 bass of a possible 128 for a 64% success rate. Size was about average as well at 1.84 lb. A total of 6 LM were weighed in which is much more then typical. The top two bags both had a couple of largemouth included. Maybe some guys are figuring them out. Only two teams had an 8 fish limit and it only took 13 lb and change to cash a cheque. Congratulations to Scott Shaw and Brian Moore, winners of our 2009 Muskoka event, Scott again for the big bag of the event and Kal Vaisanen for the big fish of the tournament. |
| How did they get them? Most of the fish were taken shallow, from about 4 to 8 ft. No real surprises as topwater, flukes, jerkbaits, tubes and wacky rigged senkos and trick worms were all mentioned by the top 5 teams. |
