BALSALM LAKE RESULTS, JULY 15TH, 2007
This was our first tournament on Balsalm Lake in a few years. There was a few showers and pretty windy in the afternoon. A good day for big fish as our big fish for the year was exceeded 4 times. Once again lots of different ways to catch fish were reported by the winners. Spinnerbaits, especially early, jerkbaits, jig and pigs, wacky worms and frogs all played a part. Few anglers reported catching a great number of fish and the winning team only had 7 fish for the day. A BIG CONGRATULATIONS to our winners Bill Todd and Steve Reimer, our Balsalm Lake winners and to John Anders who weighed in the big bag of the day and Bill Major who weighed in the big fish. A pretty tough bite overall as only 78 of a possible 128 fish were weighed in for a 55% average. although there were a good number of big fish there were many small ones as well as the average size was only 1.8 lb. Largemouth were hard to come by as there were 48 smallmouth and only 30 largemouth. Less then a lb between the top three teams.  This lake proved to be the toughest lake of the year for percentage of fish caught.
